Translator and localizer
(English-LatAm Spanish)

Hello! My name's Alejandro and I'm a fully-qualified and experienced Buenos Aires-based translator, specialized in video game localization. Be it running with Sonic, killing zombies in Raccoon City or trying not to cry when (spoilers!) Aeris died, games have been a central part of my life. I grew up loving and learning languages as well, so much so that I became a translator and a language specialist. And now I've combined both aspects of my life, video games and languages, to provide accurate localization solutions.

What I do

What I do

Video game Localization

Would you like to bring your game to a wider audience? As a gamer and language expert I can provide a natural and fluent localization into Latin American Spanish. I work on all platforms (PC, mobile, console, Facebook, Web games) and on all genres (RPGs, MMORPGs, Shooters, puzzles, Adventure Games,Visual Novels, Serious Games, etc.). I fully adapt your game to the target audience, retaining the flavor that made the original special.

Multimedia and IT

So, you think that your business could grow in the Latin American market. However, your website is just in English. Or, maybe, you'd like your app to be used outside the English speaking community. Maybe you need your movie to be subbed or dubbed into Spanish . Do you need your software manual in readable Spanish? If you need a translator, then, you can call me! I localize websites, subtitles, movie scripts, scripts for dubbing, software and IT related texts.

Corporate Translations

In the 21st century, English is the language of trade and commerce. In an increasingly globalized and competitive world, English documents are widely-used every single day. Needless to say, rapid and accurate translation solutions are not only expected: they are critical to the success of a business. Through my translation services (corporate documents, e-mails, manuals, user guides, training courses, financial documents, etc.) I can help your business move forward.

English Teaching

I'm a CELTA certified teacher and I have specialized in English pronunciation. I've been teaching since 2008, helping hundreds of students to achieve a better command of English. Since I perfectly understand the issues that non-natives face during the learning process, I can adapt to their needs by planning immersive, dynamic and engaging classes.

About Me

Alejandro Aquino
Translator, Teacher, Gamer

Hello! My name's Alejandro and I'm a gamer and a translator. I started playing games when I was 5. It was a chilly spring afternoon when my neighbor, who was a couple of years older than me, invited me to see his new acquisition: an Atari. My younger self couldn't believe his eyes when he saw his pal controlling the characters on the screen. But, alas, my mean neighbors didn't allow me to play... That night, I went back to my house and I cried my eyes out. My parents, loving and caring as they were, bought me an NES a couple of days later. The rest is history.

From that day onwards I played hundreds and hundreds of hours: eating special mushrooms with Mario, running and running with Sonic, defeating Metal gears with Solid Snake or improving my fighting skills with Raiden.

As I had a knack for learning languages, I majored in English-Spanish translation in the prestigious National University of La Plata. After graduating in 2012, however, I didn't immediately pursue a career in the video game industry. I worked for international trade companies, translating corporate texts. I worked in factories as a linguistic assistant and English language coach. During those years I also became a prolific English teacher. Quite surprinsingly, I realized that I had a special ability at teaching English as a foreign language. I also have experience translating movie scripts and subtitles, websites, software manuals, engineering manuals, and other types of text.

I never stopped playing, though. I always toyed with the idea of becoming a video game localizer, but I was in my comfort zone: I really liked what I was doing. But I knew deep inside that what I really wanted to do was to be involved in the gaming community. In 2015 I finally started translating web games, applications and software. At the beginning of 2016, I completed a videogame localization specialization.

To complement my skills, I decided to study Game Design (I'm currently designing tabletop games!) and I'm studying web programming. My knowledge, experience and qualifications allow me to undertake a text in a deeper and more nuanced way.
